As I am about 7 months into working for myself here in New York City, I thought it was about time to find a working space to call home other than my couch – lol. I did a lot of searching (as there are many coworking spaces in NY) and wanted to share a few of my findings! Note that I list below which I ended up going with but know that all have their pro’s and con’s it is about finding a space that works best for you!

The Wing: I have been to The Wing in Soho a few times now for meetings, lunches, coffee, girl chat lol, the list goes on. It is nothing short of amazing! It is like a sorority house meets downtown New York City meets NY Public Library all put into one. Like any girl I fell in love from the moment I walked in, and after talking with a few members found that the memberships fee’s are pretty affordable. Note that you do have to apply to become a member and it is open to FEMALES only. I unfortunately did not go with The Wing as I was looking for something a bit more gender neutral!
WeWork: If you live in NYC you know that there are WeWork’s everywhere! It is probably the most accessible of all NYC coworking spaces and definitely has the most *street cred*. Companies, entrepreneurs, creatives all call this space home and there are WeWorks all over the country which is major plus if you travel a lot and need an office throughout the country. I have been in the Williamsburg location a few times and it is definitely the vibe I was looking for but unfortunately I could not handle the high membership fees ($300-$600/monthly) for a small company like ourselves!
Spacious: A very budget friendly coworking option that fixes up old unused restaurants into spaces for freelancers, creatives, entrepreneurs to call home. Very trendy, friendly and a price tag of $99 a month with 14 locations throughout the city! Note that this option is not very *corporate* friendly, with little room for large private meetings or rooms.
The Farm: Located in Soho with a super fun/quirky story of the founders actually bringing parts of its interior from a barn of the farmlands of southern Missouri! The pro’s of this membership are there it is cozy, comfortable and provides endless options with its memberships. Everything from private offices to conference rooms to shared and private desks. Memberships ranging from $179-$550 a month.
3DEN: My favorite of the bunch as this is the space I now belong to! 3Den likes to stray away from the term *coworking space* but rather as I place to recharge, work and unwind. As I will mainly be using this space to work I loved the relaxed nature of this space as well as the location in Hudson Yards right across from The Vessel! The membership fee was also the most affordable of the bunch at only $70/month. Amenities include showers, nap pods, coffee, snacks & guests!
