I have recently been getting a lot of texts and messages from girls not knowing what to wear to class or not knowing how to look nice while simultaneously coming off as “not trying to hard.” When I was a freshman at Indiana I would wear everything from PJ’s to sweats to huge oversized sweatshirts, but as I have gotten older and my classes have become more serious I feel the need to look more put together when going to class. It also doesn’t hurt when you are an apparel merchandising major and you feel like every girl in EVERY class is looking you up and down – head to toe. I have experienced those gazes way to many times. I was also given advice by my very sporadic roommate Danka that when taking a test or sitting in class – if you look better, you feel better! Making you want to be there and simultaneously giving you OUNCES more confidence answering questions out loud, etc. I have learned that this theory couldn’t be more true and it doesn’t hurt to maybe run a brush through your hair every once in a awhile! So the question still prevails… how do you hit that magic combo between to dressed up and straight rolled out of bed in your boyfriends clothes?
Above are pictures of what I usually wear to my classes – minus the pink lipstick which was for the sake of pictures! Although I am a huge worshiper/believer of all things yoga pants and leggings… I mean honestly what is not to like? You automatically get a butt while gaining a couple guys numbers in the process. Thank you Victoria’s Secret for that one. But I have found a pair of pants that have trampled the legging trend and I would love to thank Brandy Melville for this one. She has created a combo of the comfiness and bagginess of sweats with the luxury of body con pants still hugging those curves you love in yoga pants. I paired these pants with my favorite Brandy staples – white tank and cardigan. I topped the look off with a pair of bright yellow Hunter rain-boots (it was raining.. I swear!) and a Zara scarf. The key is to NEVER give up comfort, because you can still accomplish that in a stylish way… ALWAYS. Brandy Melville is known for her oversized cardigans that look amazing on any body, make sure to shop that look!
