NEW YORK FASHION WEEK. To preface this post, this was technically my first REAL NYFW. I don’t count my last one because I literally had no clue what was going on and I didn’t understand the concept of street style. (Aka no photogs cared about me they only cared about Kelly). So this year I made a point to fully understand and not hold back what so ever in my outfits. You will be seeing more of this in Part 2.
Above are two of my favorite outfits from this week. This RTR dress is adorable and it was an actual MUST for fashion week. It was spotted on Something Navy as well as multiple blogger’s throughout the week including at the 2016 Bloglovin Awards. My next look I decided to throw it back to athleisure as that was all the RAGE this season capping off by the Alexander Wangs collab with Adidas.
Enough with the outfits! Now onto my favorite activities and shows of the week!! As I work full time I can only attend the evening and weekend events, which is totally fine by me. Out of the shows we saw I couldn’t help but to swoon completely over Erin Fetherston’s SS17 collection. 1) Erin’s aesthetic screams me (IT IS LITERALLY SAYING.. COURTNEY BUY ME). It is flowy, it is dreamy, it is simple yet beautiful. She is purely herself in her designs and I couldn’t help but to want every piece. There were sequins, loose curls, tailored blazers, and a shade of green that makes you wish you were a red head. We can all only hope she does another Target collaboration!! Who else is with me on that?!?! Tbt 2007. For my favorite event… there were a lot as there always is during fashion week but what stole the show in my mind and left making me feel so inspired to work as hard as I can until my dreams become a reality were the 2016 Bloglovin Awards. I think every blogger I have ever looked up to was in that room and then some. I got to finally meet some of my favorite influencer’s that I followed forever!! Like ModaPrints, HowDoYouWearThat and DarlingBeDaring to name a few! We got to see Monica Hewitt win for Best Beauty Blogger, Chriselle Lim for Blogger of the Year and Something Navy for Best Snapchat. As well as Chiara Ferragni win the Lifetime Achievement Award. Just to hear some of these women speak and get emotional about their dreams and positions was so inspiring and something we could only hope to achieve!
Okay rant over.. but seriously until Part 2 comes out please check out these two ManReppeler articles I found to be so intriguing having to do with NYFW… HERE & HERE.
They make you think right… they may also contradict everything I am standing for and saying above ^
