Honestly, is there anything better than an outdoor dining experience? I’ll answer the question for you. No. With dining slowly but surely continuing to open up, we have been trying to get out and support our favorite restaurants!
Los Angeles
If you want an escape from the city and take a little trip to Italy, the rooftop at Eataly is the perfect little “getaway.” When you walk up the stairs, you are greeted by a beautiful brick oven and then it opens up onto the large rooftop. It’s gorgeous!
Hands down my favorite happy hour in WeHo. If you love sake, sushi and beer (c’mon who doesn’t?) then this is the spot. Their happy hour menu is too good not to pass up – I believe it’s now 4pm-6pm. The do temperature checks out the door and have plexiglass in between the tables, so it feels really safe!
They have converted their parking lot into an expansive dining area so it never feels too crowded. They also did a great job with decorating the space so it still have the aesthetic of the indoor restaurant and doesn’t just feel like your sitting in a parking lot. The prices are extremely reasonable so you can have a nice date night and not break the bank!
If you are a true foodie, this is the spot. The dishes are unlike anything I’ve tried before. They also have a great happy “sunset hour” menu between 5pm-7pm and the cocktails run around $7. I recently went with one of my friend’s who is a foodie and knew everything about the menu – she made a special “off the menu” order and suddenly I was taking a wine shot out of a bone. A “bone luge” if you will.
Salazar is on the East Side of LA near Atwater Village so a bit of a drive if you are on the West Side. The restaurant is typically outdoors anyway so they didn’t have to do too much pivoting. The Mezcal Margarita is to die for!
New York
The Butcher’s Daughter Williamsburg – I know. Groundbreaking right? But I wanted to include them because I think they have done such a great job with their Williamsburg location!! They’ve put out greenery, funky chairs, and built a rooftop’d section for when it rains! Also their mimosas and juice flights are 10/10.
Sveta NYC – West Village: I recently did a fun girls lunch at Sveta in the West Village, and was a fan of just about everything! Their outdoor setup, their seating, their music and of course their food! One of my favorite things is that they are currently running a promo on their adult capri sun cocktail pouches. If you post a photo to Instagram tagging Sveta, they will give you a free refill! You can see a full TikTok of our lunch HERE.
De Mole Williamsburg: We have eaten here twice since being back in NYC and each time had a great experience. They are located on one of my favorite streets in Brooklyn, Hope St, and have a very large outdoor setup! I recommend their burritos or fajitas and the taquitos to start!
Baby Brasa in the West Village: We did Baby Brasa for Kyle’s birthday and it was the perfect vibe for a celebration! I highly recommend if looking to do a birthday dinner or event while in quarantine. They have amazing tapas, empanadas and cocktails and the wait staff is extremely kind & welcoming!
Kokomo in Williamsburg: AH! I could write an entire book on how this is the place to BE for outdoor dining! Kokomo serves Caribbean food and they do absolutely everything right. They make sure to have live music each night (DJ or Band). They serve to-go cocktails and the vibe is 100% amazing. It is also another great spot for a bday or celebration during this crazy time. You must check them out while in Williamsburg!! You seriously will not regret it.
