Spontaneous explorations of the town you live in, always leads to some amazing memories and in my case… fall views! This past weekend my roommate Julie and I decided to try and find the infamous Monroe County Fire Tower in Bloomington, Indiana. The fire tower was originally used to spot forest fires in the Hoosier National Forest but has since shut down and is now mainly inhabited by IU college students and Bloomington townies trying to get spectacular views of the trees/leaves in the fall. The only true trouble is finding this place! Julie and I had a pretty great adventure of trial and error searching through the Hoosier National Forest for it.. luckily we finally stumbled upon and made the very long and tall hike to the very top. Safe to say… the view was breath taking. These small weekend adventures have began to define my college experience at Indiana. The roadtrips, spontaneous nights out with friends, and living in the crazy sorority I call home. It is hard to believe I am already a junior here. College has been one the greatest experiences of my life. I have learned, changed, and become such a better person because of it. My advice while still having a year and a half left is to take advantage of every second of it. Always say yes. Never pass up an opportunity and seize each second with your friends, because who knows where you will be after graduation. I am very blessed to be able to say I am a Hoosier and wouldn’t want it any other way.
Anyway.. on to the topic of fall fashion! For small fall road trips you really can’t go wrong with a sweater and colorful scarf. The sweater I am wearing is from Urban Outfitters and they continue to have staple fall sweaters that pair perfectly with an array of scarfs. Shoutout to my partner in crime Kelly for bringing this scarf home to me from Morocco (5 years later and still going strong). To mix this casual look up I wanted to pair with an on trend pair of brown jeans I picked up from Plato’s Closet.. Solid $8 Express Jeans. Then topping the whole look off with a red lip, side braid, and Steve Madden light brown boots. My advice for casual fall looks is to keep in simple with one pop. No matter if you are walking to class or climbing to the top of a fire tower, you don’t want to look like you are trying to hard. Fall is for relaxation.. keep your wardrobe that way!
