Happy April! Which to me is the best month ever because it is my BIRTHDAY month! Woop! So with birthday celebrations on the mind I wanted to share five unique bday experiences in NYC that are much better than “lets just meet at this bar.” Enjoy!
Aunt Jakes Pasta Making Class: I have done this class twice now! Once for an event with Vogue and last night to celebrate my birthday! I love this in particular because it is so much better than just going to a group dinner. You are able to spend time with everyone and do a fun activity, while also learning something! ADVICE: I recommend the 8th street location and the instructor Kyle P if you have a choice! The class is $35 per person then after you get a HUGE meal that is also $35 per person and includes a pre fix apps, entree’s and dessert 🙂 all delicious!
BATSU! NYC: So this is one that I haven’t done yet but have heard amazing reviews about it. It is a sushi restaurant and live Japanese game show all in one! It is super interactive, with pulling people up on stage and having them participate. Calia Quinn talks more about it on her blog HERE!
Drunk Shakespeare: This may be my 2nd or 3rd time talking about this show here on the blog but it is just SO MUCH FUN. When I saw it a few months back with my little sister I knew that I wanted to come back with a group of friends for my birthday! Tickets are super cheap via the site FEVER – only $29 a person – so I booked a bunch to go this coming Wednesday! Note that there is a waitress and bar at the show so you will be able to drink while also enjoying the actors drinking lol.
Odd Fellows Ice Cream Party – My absolute favorite NYC ice cream shop now offers private parties! A few of my friends celebrated a birthday at their Williamsburg location a few months back and said it was a BLAST. It is a flat fee of $555 and can hold up to 25 people. The best part is they go off menu mixing up boozy shakes, floats and DIY sundae bars! So fun and definitely something I want to do for my next celebration!
Medieval Times Dinner Theater – This is, in my opinion, probably the most unique of the 5! It is a great dinner theater that gives you front row seats to different medieval times fighting, celebrating and of course DINNER. The downfall is that it is Lyndhurst, New Jersey but of my friends that have gone, they have all taken party busses out there, which is SO FUN. Lots of more information on their website! 🙂
