Happy Monday – I apologize for the delay on our Friday Favorites as we are both spending time together here in LA and we have been crazy busy! However please help yourself to a list of our Monday Must Have’s 🙂
Public House NYC: When the clock strikes 5 p.m., the best thing you could do for yourself after a long day of freezing cold and hard work is to go to a bar with your coworkers, scout for attractive males, and celebrate with some hot toddies and mulled wine. Public House, complete with a fun + young crowd smack in the middle of Midtown, brings us 20-30 somethings a large space to watch football, chat, and remember why we love living in the City. While the regular Happy Hour Menu offers $4-6 house wines/drinks and draft beers, the Winter Cocktail Menu — coming early December — will be what brings you the most joy this Happy Hour season.
Glo Skin Beauty Phyto-Active Firming Serum: If you’re like me and scrunch your forehead often (mostly while applying mascara lol), then you might already have some fine lines starting to form. While I realize I’m only in my twenties and am a little young for Botox, Glo Skin Beauty’s Phyto-Active Firming Serum offers a great alternate solution to tighten skin and smooth out bothersome lines. When you wake up in the morning + before you go to bed at night, rub a dollop of the serum onto the desired area, following it up with your moisturizer. If you have a jade roller, spending a few minutes to roll will only increase the benefits!
Jade Roller: If you don’t own a jade roller, are you even a person in 2018? Just kidding — but seriously, investing a couple good bucks in a jade roller will bring you a great deal of future satisfaction. About 3 times a week, after going through my skincare routine, I grab my jade roller from the freezer and gently roll through my face for ~5 minutes. Not only does it feel amazing, but it helps your skin absorb product more + has great benefits for your skin/circulation. Especially for my girls with morning puffiness (hello holiday sugars, dehydration, etc.), the jade roller will help take care of that, thank g.
YSL All Hours Foundation: YSL All Hours Matte Foundation is THE Holy Grail of foundation. With my tendency to switch up foundations often, I most recently stumbled upon the YSL All Hours Foundation sold at Sephora. Ok, it was a little expensive ($54) — but when the MUA suggested not using a primer with it due to it’s super effective hydrating quality, I retracted my $$ issue with it. She was right, this foundation set on my skin perfectly and there has been absolutely no need thus far for a primer. Some things to keep in mind: (1) it does tend to set a bit darker after a few minutes, so opt to buy a shade lighter, and (2) the foundation is applied best with a beauty blender/beauty sponge.
Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Shampoo: Dedicated to all my blondies out there, my blonde self is currently obsessed with Clairol’s Shimmer Lights Purple Shampoo. I kid you not, each time I’ve used it these past few weeks, a different friend has come up to me and asked if I had done something different to my hair… one ~10 minute shower shampoo sesh later and your hair has a whole new life. Since my hair is dyed blonde, the brassiness vanishes post-Shimmer Lights use and gives my locks a bit of an ash blonde look. Best part is, I paid $9.50 for it — so if it doesn’t quite work out for you, you’re bank account’s not hating you!
