Happy Friday loves! Assuming you’re still recovering from New Years like half the population, we’ve compiled a handy list of TV shows worth binging this weekend + week. So cancel all your plans, nestle yourself under a blanket, grab a glass (or bottle, who are we kidding?) of wine, and get ready to feel all the ~feels~.
You
Oh my gosh, remember good ol’ Dan Humphrey from Gossip Girl? Well, he’s unhinged just a little since then… because now he’s the main character (aka psychopathic lover) in Netflix’s newest romantic-thriller – You. If you’re a romance gal (like me) and your boyfriend is more the horror/thriller type, then this show is the PERFECT combination of the two; trust me, it’ll have you + bae on your toes at the end of every episode.
Ozark
If Breaking Bad had a sister, Ozark would be it. Other than being a part of a huge money-laundering scheme gone wrong, main character, Marty Byrde, is like any other white collar dad. Along with his wife and two kids, Marty has to navigate the comforts (or dangers, rather) of a new town and see if he can redeem himself from the spite of a Mexican drug lord.
The Bold Type
My fave show to watch with my gal pals or when I’m by myself, The Bold Type – a series created by former magazine executive Joanna Coles –, highlights the lives of three best friends who work at Scarlet Magazine (which is really the TV show version of Cosmo). Other than life at the magazine, this rom-com show perfectly grasps what it’s like to live, date, and struggle as young, aspiring twenty-somethings in New York City. Definitely a feel good show. As an NYC girl and employee at Cosmo myself, I can vouch for how accurate and on-point The Bold Type really is. (*Glass of wine in hand recommended)
Flash
For all you guys out there who prefer a little action, Flash delves into the life of Barry Allen (who is not terrible to look at, btw 😉), a crime-scene investigator turned superhero. While I’m more a romance/comedy lover, this action-filled series is one you can watch with any guy in your life. What’s great too is there isn’t just one season you can binge on for a hot minute, there are FIVE – meaning it might actually take longer than one day to complete the series, ha.
Killing Eve
If you need a show that you can start and finish in one lazy Sunday, look no further than Killing Eve. I got a lot of DM’s last week on how I was streaming this – note all episodes are available on Hulu! I will say after watching the whole show I felt that the Golden Globes definitely snubbed Jodie Comer who plays Villanelle (The Russian Assassin) of a nomination. She, for lack of better words, KILLS it. An impeccable actress who is chilling in every way. As always Sandra Oh fabulously steals her scenes and you leave wanting more of her. Golden Globe very well deserved.
