Fall in New York is our absolute favorite season. Summer gets hot and sticky and our air conditioned homes becomes our cooled down oasis while Winter is as bleak as our bank accounts after black Friday. The trick here though is that Fall really only lasts a couple of weeks so you have to take advantage of everything it has to offer. We have teamed up with Shoeline.com to help launch their Fall campaign and show you some of our favorite Fall looks! Strut your stuff to some of our favorite Fall activities!
Take the Ferry to Dumbo
The East River Ferry is our favorite way to travel in the Fall because you get to be outside and sightsee! Check out the routes here, hop on the boat and head to Dumbo for a sun-filled afternoon of wandering, eating and shopping. Head to Photoville at the Brooklyn Bridge Plaza for the gorgeous outdoor photography museum and then wander next door to the Smorgasburg Beer Garden. Fun fact: Last time Courtney and I did this we saw Kerri Russel drinking a beern and noming on Shake Shack.
Pick Some Damn Pumpkins
Pretend you don’t live in New York and go pick some pumpkins like normal humans do during the Fall. Either rent a Zip Car or hop on the Metro North train to Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard for some good ol’ pickin’ of the pumps. Get your apple cider drank on, fantasize about the thought of wanting children because you see them playing with mini pumpkins (and then abruptly get that notion out of your head because you can’t even take care of goldfish) and
Drink in Dope Places
Take advantage of the last few weeks of comfortably sitting outside and GO DRINK at COOL OUTDOOR SPOTS. The William Vale Hotel is a gorgeous new spot that just opened up in Williamsburg and has a pretty amazing outdoor space (sit by the pool anyone?). Pier A Harbor House boasts a huge outdoor space perfect for large groups who want to be bougy and drink rose on a Sunday. Don’t want to spend the big bucks? We got you girl – grab a 6-pack of Brooklyn Oktoberfest and head to Sheep’s Meadow in Central Park, McCaron Park in Williamsburg or Prospect Park in Park Slope.
Stock Up on Vintage
Take a stroll to Bushwick and head to Urban Jungle to stock up on some of the best “dad” sweaters and Vintage Levi Jean jackets you can find! Throw on a pair of Shoeline ankle booties with a comfy dad sweater (most finds are under $25 by the way) and shop till you freaking drop.
