A little while back, I had the pleasure of shooting with fashion photographer and videographer, Jose Martinez. Generally we shoot street style but when I took a look at his Instagram, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of doing a studio shoot with him at Brooklyn Grain in Greenpoint. Jose has traveled around the world shooting various fashion weeks and snapping photos of some of my favorite bloggers like Aimee Song of Song of Style, Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl and Jenny Bernheim of Margo and Me.
One of the best things about Instagram, is the amount of connections we have made through the platform. We are really lucky to be apart of such a collaborative community of fashion bloggers, designers, photographers and brands and love making connections with like-minded people. While this shoot was a little out of my comfort zone (let’s get real I am not a “model” nor do I pretend to be) expanding your content and creativity is so important for exploring different facets of your brand and extending reach. I loved doing something a little different and especially loved connecting with such a talented photographer who pulled me out of my comfort zone and brought out a little bit of my “darker” side.
