I am a wearer of jumpsuits, pretty much year round. I am self described obsessed with them. I found this one at Windsor Store and couldn’t help but to have it, I mean look at that open back!!! Whenever I wear this I really feel like I fit in with my Brooklyn, NY surroundings. SIDE NOTE/SECRET: I never wanted to live in Brooklyn. I absolutely hate saying that now due to how obsessed I am with it, but it’s true. I was your typical girl right out of college wanting to live in Murray Hill with all of my friends… So happy I didn’t chose that path. For many reasons which I will explain.
I have been out of college for exactly a year now and it is crazy how much has changed and the whirlwind you go thru beginning a job. It definitely is not easy and anyone that tells you it is is lying. I took this past summer off after school to travel, be with family and see as many places/friends as possible before beginning a 9-5/40 hr a week job far from home. I played with the idea of moving to Chicago for about 2mo during my senior year at Indiana University. It is an enigma.. everyone that goes to IU moves to Chicago after school. A crazy rotation that never ends. I thought about how easy this choice would be. I would be a drive away from home, with all of my sorority sisters and a job that I knew I would fit in very well at. Instead I took the leap of faith and moved to New York. I am so happy with this decision I can’t even begin to explain it all. I have met so many amazing people and friends since moving here. I get to live with Kelly and two amazing/awesome/very different girls that keep living in NYC VERY interesting :)). My advice to all recent college grads… TAKE THE LEAP. Even if it is only for a year or two. Stray away from the obvious path, make new friends, flirt with new boys, don’t walk into a bar and automatically be labeled due to what sorority you were in in college!!
College was amazing. We all want to go back to Bloomington at many times during our first year post-grad but you will never leave that life if you continue to live it. There is so much more out there for us to discover! I am a small town Hoosier, living & loving in New York at 23!! Not to say I will never go back to the Midwest because it is very possible that I will. But for now, I like it here!
Looking for anymore post grad advice? Hop on the comments box below or on Facebook and I would love to discuss.
ALSO!!! If you didn’t catch it – I was featured on Instyle.com yesterday. Check out the full story HERE.
