We are finally settling into our new Manhattan apartment and are extremely happy for the moving process to be over! This is the first time either of us have lived somewhere where we are completely able to take over the interior design process. We each had multiple roommates through our years after moving from home, so knowing we got a blank canvas to truly make a home, I especially was thrilled.
I decided to start with taking on the living room. If you have ever rode on a NYC subway you have 100% seen an ad for Burrow furniture. We were very excited when they reached out and wanted to collaborate. We love their designs and decided to pick the couch out that we are sitting on here! It is a king size, fits perfectly and even has built in USB’s to charge your phone. You can shop our exact COUCH HERE. The pillows were hand made, cut and sewn by my amazingly talent Grandma & Poppy! Love you guys 🙂
Once we were able to pick out the couch we moved on to the art. I have had a few questions on IG Stories asking how I have gone about ensuring the decorating process has remained gender neutral. As I have taken the lead on the design process, every decision we have made has been made together! The art was probably one of my favorite things we did together. We wanted to make sure there was color, a New York feel and neutralized. We used the website MINTED.COM and the only piece of art we disagreed on was the tangerines piece. For some reason Kyle really wanted a pineapple, and I put my foot down on that LOL. So we ended up with the tangerines which colors play nicely off the main piece.

After the couch and art was picked out we moved on to our entertainment/tv center. We wanted to bring in a sort of modern sense as the rest of our apartment is a more vintage feel. We found this one from Macy’s and LOVE IT. However it is extremely hard to put together, it took us 2 days and one night waking up at 1am to hearing Kyle hammering nails trying to figure out how the shelves work lol. Nonetheless gorgeous!
Above the TV we picked out this 5 foot shelf from minted.com as well as the black and white art which you can purchase HERE. The candles and picture frames we picked out from TJ Maxx, and the flowers from Venus et Fleur.
Lastly we placed in our rug which I had in my previous bedroom from Rugs.com, you can get HERE and the ottoman from Macy’s HERE.
Overall we are so in love with our living room and happy that it is a collaboration of both of our tastes. I think when moving in with a significant other to a small space communication is key. I made sure to make no rash decisions just because or because I know in the long run Kyle wouldn’t really care. It is a home you are putting together so every decision should be made together.
