These past three weeks have been INSANE. I, Courtney, left my corporate job and began working on Mimosas and Manhattan full time. Kelly finally is getting settled into living in LA and her new job out there and somehow in the midst of all that (along with myself moving from BK to Manhattan on Sept 1st) we managed to pull off a full NYFW. I was so lucky that 2 weeks prior to the first day of fashion week, Kelly was able to join me here in New York. There was a lot of back and forth with her not knowing if she would be able to come but luckily she had an event in DC on that next Wednesday for her full time job, so was able to pull it off. WHEW! Thank goodness. This was the first NYFW that we had multiple jobs, a jam packed schedule and contracted shows/events. Which is of course amazing and shows us that we are growing but it does heighten the pressure. Which is why it is so nice to have the 2 of us.
Luckily our first big job fell on the first day of fashion week and we were so excited to partner with Artistry Cosmetics to do a full NYFW takeover from their account of the Pamella Roland show. This was hands down one of our favorite shows. A lot of people did not know this but Pamella actually found out the morning of that her father in law had passed away. Her family is extremely close, so to have to go through something like that and still put on a show is awe-inspiring in itself. For the show we wore the looks above, both vintage finds and our hair was done by Glamsquad, makeup done by Artistry!
Side Note: Pamella’s front row was LIT. All of the housewives were there: Tinsley, Dorinda, Ramona, Sonja, EVEN JOHN! Further was the cast of Mean Girls the Musical, Nigel Barker, Mrs. J, & Nicky Hilton.
We quickly changed (photos below) and grabbed a Via, who we loved partnering with for the week! Getting around the west side in heels and the cobblestone was a no go, so black car’s it was! We raced from Pier 51 down to Spring Studios to catch the Discount Universe show with the amazing Papyrus Team, who were official sponsors of NYFW. THIS SHOW WAS SERIOUSLY CRAZY. Nuts. BUT SO MUCH FUN. We love this designer duo and loved watching these girls push the envelope. Top 3 of the week. Definitely look up shots from the runway for this show. Worth it!
We ended the day with the Nicole Miller show, which was just not our cup of tea. I think a lot of it had to do with leaving a show with such a strong POV to then a show that is more everyday/modern, that left us feeling unfulfilled with a lack of excitement.

Moving on to Day 2! A way more laid back day. We started off the morning with the Concept Korea show – dressed in full Lie Sangbong, pictured below. His collection was one of my favorites in terms of color palette. I adored what I saw for this coming spring – it honestly made me want to fast forward through fall!
Later that night we ended some non noteworthy shows and events. Kelly looked fire in this striped/cobalt blue combo.

Moving into Day 3 which was extremely eventful – LOL. We linked up with the incredible Redken team (seriously one of our favorites) for the day and started backstage with them @ Taoray Wang. The hair, the models, the everything backstage looked gorgeous and was on point. However.. then we move into the show portion and it all fell apart (except the hair because Redken duh). We are very understanding of the fact that every single show runs late. It happens. However. When a show reaches 45-50mins late, to us – unless you are Oscar De La Renta – that is seriously pushing it. We were already running behind for our next backstage coverage with Redken and were thinking of dipping out. Then we realized why the eff they were running that late, Taoray Wang PR team was holding until Tiffany Trump, one of the Trump brothers, and her entourage of Trumpette’s got there and seated. Well that was that. We walked out. It was one of those moments where we did not even think twice. It was just like – hell no will we support this designer that makes all of their attendants/press/photographers/crew wait an hour for Tiffany Trump. Thats bonkers!! ANYWAY. We really loved our outfits that day so links below!!

That night we attended an after party for about 15 mins, saw EmRata in person, realized that was about as good as the night was going to get and left.

Our day 4/5 we had to catch up on work so we laid pretty low, shot a few campaigns; one for Sachin & Babi, pictured below, ate a lot of food, slept, and answered emails.
Unfortunately Kelly had to head to DC on Tuesday so I flew solo for Day 6! This was an AWESOME day. So so many good shows (and one not so goof one, we will get to it). I started off at the Alice + Olivia Presentation which was gorgeous! The colors, the inspiration the details. Everything was on point. I wore this fun little pink Lulu’s number to the event, which you can shop below 🙂

After that I attended Naeem Khan, which was just UGH to die for. Some of my favorite pieces from all of NYFW were in that show. I died. This show also contained a stellar front row! Ryan Seacrest… shit thats all I remember now… but Ryan Seacrest was great.
I ended the great shows of the day with the Cynthia Rowley presentation in her showroom in West Village! I wish I had images to share from this show but all you could really take were videos! She had every model wear roller skates and the whole production was just incredible. IT WAS FUN. Remember when fashion was fun people?!?!?!? Check out our IG highlights for clips from the show.
Lastly I attended Dan Liu, where I left feeling confused. I did not understand the makeup, the hair, the opener, or the designs. I did not do any press coverage from this show, because I did not want to paint a picture that every influencer LOVES/ADORES every single show that they go to. We are not editors, and I know that, but we do have opinions and we are writers, so I definitely want to be honest in my reviews. In that I unfortunately left this show feeling uninspired.

I FINALLY, and if you made it this far THANK YOU, closed out the week with the Olay presentation/show put on my Kelly and her amazing team at Small Girls PR. I was so excited to wear this Cynthia Rowley ROLE MODEL sweatshirt to the show because it truly embodied the essence of this campaign. Olay broke the barriers by having all of their spokeswomen walk down the runway makeup-less and speak to their truths. My highlight was watching my role model Aly Raisman walk down the runway showing that there should never be a TOO in front of the word STRONG. She is not TOO STRONG, she is STRONG. Ah goosebumps. I also got to have an interaction after the show with Whitney Port, another one of my role models and I didn’t say anything stupid.. so another win!!
In that we reach a close on another incredible NYFW. If you have any questions please please DM us over on Instagram @courtandkelly or leave a comment below
