Alright so let’s talk about hair. SO EXCITING RIGHT?! Basically all of my life I have changed up my hair. I have done it all… Ombre, Light Brown, Red Hair, almost Jet Black. It has been through hell and back. So, I decided to stop dying my hair about 7 months ago to give it a much needed rest. I also wanted to finally (after 10 years) let me gray patch grow out. I have had this unique birthmark since I was 13 and was always super embarrassed by it. Growing up in Indiana you never really want to have anything unique about yourself. You pretty much try to blend in because that’s what everyone else is doing. However! I reached the end of my hair dying drought and decided to pop into the chic salon in Soho, ION STUDIO NYC, to change it up for Fall.
I went with a deep auburn brown that complimented my eyes and skin tone. I wanted to keep it rich enough that I didn’t come across as emo. I also wanted to protect my gray patch, so my colorist was sweet enough to use aluminum foil so he wouldn’t color it. A Courtney DIVA moment… I know. The whole process actually took a lot shorter than what I thought and I was able to relax and enjoy a cappucino and fabulous conversation. The perfect Saturday morning activity. Despite the slight hangover.
Make sure to check out ION STUDIO for color, cuts and fabulous blowouts.. (& mimosas)
xx
