So to begin, I wouldn’t say these are my favorite photos I have ever taken. I mean for one my boobs look ginormous and I have no clue why! I was going through the edits completely dumbfounded by that. Along with the fact that lately I have been very uninspired on photo spots in my hometown. For these photos I literally took one step out of my front door and was like, “this will do,” on my front porch brick wall. The sad thing is, is that I absolutely adore this outfit but I almost didn’t post these photos because of the uninteresting background.
For the past year I have been blogging all out of Indiana, whether it be Bloomington or Bright. I have struggled with this over the summer… a lot. It is hard to go through other bloggers pages and see these gorgeous photos taken all over the world and not get a tad envious. I call this effect “The Blogger Anxiety.” We have all dealt with it and I am dedicating this post to all the fashion/lifestyle bloggers out there who get stressed out from time to time! Although this community is so amazing and there are a ton of inspiring women out there just waiting to connect, it can also take a toll on your self esteem. You find yourself staying up at night rethinking certain photos and wandering if they are up to par with the rest of the blogger world. Especially for women just starting out in this profession. I have began to learn that no matter what, your brand and your blog is YOUR own. It is what makes YOU unique. If there were 1,000 We Wore What’s or Late Afternoon’s, there would be no diversity or expression of every sort of style. As much as sometimes you think you aren’t doing the right things, editing your pictures correctly or not being able to compete with the bloggers in LA/NYC, I remember it is not about that it is about expressing yourself on a platform and continuing to do something that you and others love. This community is so uplifting and you know so what these may not be my favorite pictures ever… this is MY FAVORITE SKIRT EVER!!! I am working this month on not being such a blog perfectionist and embracing my flower garden photos, as well as my dog crashing them! We all make due with what we have and where we are and that is a beautiful thing.
I am such a true believer in women supporting women. None of us should be suffering from “The Blogger Anxiety” because in due time we will all find many successes in our lives. We work hard and find happiness in this profession/hobby! If you ever need a blogger pick me up please email us at mimosasandmanhattan@gmail.com, chances are we have gone through or thought about something you have!
Also to the girls who have tried to find this skirt online.. I AM SO SORRY! I got this three years ago, I wish I could find the exact one again 🙁

I get Blogger Anxiety all of the time and it is the worst. I take my pictures in Bloomington too & have trouble finding pretty places unlike all of the other bloggers who have amazing scenery. I learned to just let it go and make it the best you can with what you have. These pictures are so good! I love the maroon top and that skirt is amazing!
