Summer and blazers – I know, not generally in the same sentence especially in the midst of this New York heat. But sometimes, a girls just gotta layer. I love the structured look of blazers and how they really pull an outfit together but I am not about showing up to meetings drenched in sweat (what? It happens when you are forced to take the subway).  I spend a ton of time searching for those perfect Summer blazers that are light colors and even lighter fabrics, so you still get the layering look without dying from over-heating.

Funny story about this shoot – you know how you always see those bloggers who just happen to have a beautiful bouquet of flowers perfectly situated and ready to shoot with their #ootd? Ya, that is not typically me but I have always wanted that shot. As we were leaving the Bryant Park restrooms after a quick outfit change, the bathroom attendant was putting together the days fresh bouquet of flowers and they were so beautiful I actually asked him if I could borrow the flowers before he finished the arrangement so I could shoot with them.  He was so sweet and excitedly handed them over so I could shoot with them! Sometimes living in New York is really hard, but it is little acts of kindness like these that make the grind worth it.
