When living in New York, doing just about anything from grocery shopping to running simple errands, can be insanely inconvenient.  And let’s face it, when there is a legitimate heat wave in the city, going outside is usually one of the last things we want to do. Last Friday, we wanted to enjoy the wanders NY has to offer (aka shopping, makeup, champs, etc.) without leaving the comfort of our AC-filled living room (apologies in advance to the roomies for our August A.C. bill) and decided to throw an ultimate girls day in.  Enter Beaumade App and Stylisted. Beaumade is an app that allows you to shop hundreds of designer rings and see how they look on you by virtually trying them on. You can try on collections by several artisans and designers all by just picking up your iphone. While no, neither one of us are shopping for that engagement ring just yet (don’t freak out dad) it certainly doesn’t hurt to play around and know what you want when the time does come.  After all, we did sign a “bridesmaid contract” on a napkin when we were in high school so I guess you could say we have just always been early planners.

To accompany our glam day, we enlisted the help of Stylisted which is a website and mobile app that allows women to book on-location hair styling and
makeup appointments from a networked of vetted freelance beauty professionals aka no rookie is touching this hair.  With the help of Jamie Stehlin (Makeup) and  Gabrielle Hinton (Hair) we got beautified in our living room right before a shoot.  While I sat in my living room sipping champagne and getting that perfect smokey eye, I felt nothing short of a Real Housewife of New York and let’s just say, I was not mad about it.  Another cool thing about Stylisted – you can select the stylist that you will be using which eliminates that sometimes anxious guessing game.
