This look was inspired by one thing, New York Fashion Week! As I haven’t been able to give you all my POV rundown of NYFW, I thought this would be the perfect time. We came about this lovely designer, Alex Vinash, when attending his show, our last official stop of the week. We were blown away by his ability to work with prints and pattern mix to a whole new level. It was hard to contain my excitement when Alex agreed to let us pull a few looks for a shoot! I chose these amazing wide leg pants and Kelly went for the matching two piece set. We set the location for this shoot so we could have our very own Carrie Bradshaw moment, sans running down the New York Public Library steps after Big crushed her dreams. Tears. Luckily we were able to get through the morning without any huge heart breaks!! (except when I dropped a doughnut on the ground)
Back to my thoughts on NYFW. I would like to start off by saying it was my first one ever, as well as my first fashion show ever. The whole week was and wasn’t what I thought it would be like. To start off if you are wearing anything close to a little bit “out there” be prepared to be swarmed by like 10000 photographers outside the shows. I was not ready for that. Nor would any normal human being be, but it makes you feel like a full on celeb, so wasn’t mad about that! I personally come off a bit awkward/have no filter/not accustomed to this life/I grew up in rural Indiana, so yea I did have to have a laugh at some of the ridiculousness of it all. It felt so foreign to me at times, but it is hard to deny the beauty of seeing amazing gowns walk down a runway. I still haven’t stopped thinking of the Cushnie Et Ochs show as well as Leanne Marshall. The whole week was really so surreal but it makes you realize why you may have started this blog or hobby in the first place. To get to experience beautiful things and people. I mean.. JENNIFER HUDSON sat in front of me at one of the shows.
So, by the time Fall rolls around I think I will be more used to it all, and just New York in general. I’ve learned this city does not come easily for everyone, but that is why I love and gravitate towards it. It is a challenge almost. I want to prove to myself that I can make it here as well as make a name for myself. I wouldn’t trade the people/places/friends/(boy)friend I have met here for anything.
Other ways I have worn green tank here.
That’s all for now 🙂
