Accessorizing. Let me just say it took me a looooong time to figure this concept out. When I was a freshman in college you best believe I was wearing not only a belt, but feathers in my ears, feathers in my hair, necklaces, rings, and probably an insane amount of makeup. My best friend Jill loves to refer to those years as my “over accessorizing years” and they were a sight to see. I then went through a stage where I just didn’t wear jewelry at all. I hated feeling like I had a ton of stuff on and I would rather go without. Now two years later I feel like I have found the perfect balance.

Layering necklaces is very on trend right now and luckily I had two of my favorite jewelry brands to help me out! During fashion week we visited Lydell and Sequin showrooms and received amazing tips on how to accessorize. Below I am sharing three of my favorites!

1) Start with a Choker. They are back and from what we have learned they are staying. This is one of the easiest ways to start out a layer because it is simple and you can go with a light black velvet version and not feel like “too much.” Here are some of our favorite options.. One, two, three.

2) Gold is in. And it is our go-to metal right now. I have never been one to wear earrings and necklaces at the same time but when you choose dainty options like the ones above it doesn’t come off too aggressive!

3) Reflective shades. We have been eyeing a couple pairs lately but are in love with these ones. I just ordered a pair of Ray-Ban aviators thru Shop Ditto but in the meantime I stole Kelly’s to shoot with. We love this trend because lets be honest… We all love feeling like we got our hater shades on. They just make you feeeeeeel cool.
