I just got back from a whirlwind of a trip. I spontaneously (aka 24 hours before) decided to go to Dallas, Texas to visit my high school friends and just go on a much needed vacation after New York Fashion Week. While it was a super short trip and I wish I could have stayed there longer, it was so relaxing and was exactly what I needed after a crazy week of fashion, parties and event craziness. I got some AMAZING recommendations of where to go and what to do from some of our followers and feel like I crammed as much as I could in 48 hours so I have rounded up some of my favorites spots while I was there!
Where To Stay
I stayed at the absolutely stunning Four Season Dallas in Las Colinas. The resort was truly spectacular and the service was on another level. I spent my mornings lounging in the spa (which is complimentary to guests), taking a dip in the jacuzzi tub and walking around the resort. Our room overlooked the golf course and on the clear days, we could see downtown Dallas!
What to Eat
Thanks to the Four Seasons, we had an amazing Brunch Buffet at their signature restaurant, Law. I looked out over the pool and lounge area as I sipped on a mimosa (go figure) and delved into that buffet.
While personally I went there for the drinks and live music, the food was what made me stay. The Rustic, is a dope outdoor/indoor venue which is known for its’ instagrammable Paula’s Popsicle Lemonade and authentic Texan vibes. Try the Brisket Quesadilla while sipping a Blue Moon or just dive right into the Texas Quail if you are feeling really adventurous.
Where to Drink
Some people experience the culture through food, some the museums and some, the nightlife. The latter is how I identify myself. Thanks to some of you recommendations, I wondered around Dallas and got a quick taste of the southern party scene.
Approximately one hour after we landed I wound up at The Social House, which self-identifies as a “trendy gastropub, hearty from-scratch fare & an outdoor yard with games.” And it was just that. Whether you are looking to play giant beer bong with frat stars all wearing matching plaid shirts or run around inside of a giant ball and knock over your soon-to-be one-night stand, this place is for you.
You cannot get much trendier or more instagrammable than, “Dot’s Hop House“. Flirt with the bartender, grab a craft beer (or whatever shooter the bartender tells you is their speciality) and start snapping some Texas-meets-chic InstaStories under the 45 ft. chandelier. Didn’t think it could get any better? The over-the-top bathroom boasts a vanity mirror your Barbie playhouse could only wish it had.
Really looking to get loose and belt “Empire State of Mind” (the irony) on top of a nightclub-meets-rooftop bar-meets-restaraunt? Stirr is the spot to go if you are really looking to get lit and get hit on by men with their hair so greased back it serves as an alternative to botox.
If you are looking to chill-out and try some local beers for a not-too-shabby price, BrainDead Brewing is your place. Drinking on the outdoor patio is a great alternative to the ruckus happening a block away at Stirr.
Where to Shop
I didn’t get to do much shopping while I was there (because let’s get real the cocktails were calling my name) but I did stumble upon a cute boutique called Jade & Clover. If you are looking for some Urban Outfitters-esque threads and home accessories but still want to shop local, this is your spot. I bought a super cute pair of boots and the owners shipped it directly to my house in BK because for some reason those girls just knew I couldn’t fit anything else into my carry-on.
