This post is brought to you by The Quaker Oats Company but all opinions, as always, are our own.
At this time in our lives, sleep seems to be near the bottom of our priority list. Take it from a gal who used
to sleep in until 11am during college (yes I would try to arrange my class schedule to accommodate my
beauty sleep), getting up early in the morning for work has been a huge struggle. The past few months
however, the morning has become one of my favorite parts of my day because I have implemented a
morning routine that sets me up for a successful day. By prepping my breakfast the night before, I have
time for other steps in my morning routine that really preps me to hustle through out the day.
15 minutes of morning yoga + meditating
After I wake up, I head to my rooftop, lay out my mat, put on some calm music and do about 15 minutes
of yoga and/or meditating (depending on how I’m feeling and if I’m in a rush). This super short time I dedicate to stretching and prepping my mind for the day has helped me keep my cool during the day when things tend to get manic.
Wash My Face + Put on Moisture Mask or Eye Patches
This may sound like a given but as a newly converted skincare addict, I pledged that every morning/evening (sometime afternoon if I can), I wash my face. I have been using overnight masks that I wash off with my morning cleanser and then apply either eye patches or an easy moisture mask that I keep on while I get ready in the morning! Adding this step in has really been a game changer for my skin.
Eat a Nutritious Breakfast
We were recently introduced to Quaker Overnight Oats and partnered up because it is such an easy, nutritious, and hassle-free breakfast, which leaves time for everything else I have added into my morning routine! I prep my breakfast the night before by adding soy milk to the Overnight Oat cups, put it in the fridge to cold-steep overnight and then it is ready to go the next morning! It has saved so much time in my morning routine.
Watch the Morning Shows
I have recently become an old grandma and find an intense satisfaction flipping between the morning shows. While munching on my breakfast and drinking a cup of coffee, I get caught up on the news and my fare share of pop culture intake for the day.
Make my Bed
Another given for some, but recently I started making my bed and it has been a game changer. I also make it a priority to tidy up my room (from the disaster it becomes when trying on outfits in the morning) so when I come home after work/gym/events, I come back to a clean and inviting room! It makes all of the difference when you aren’t walking into the morning’s disaster zone.
