Finally taking this snowy day in to catch everyone up on my AMAZING trip to the Dominican Republic! So excited to share where we stayed, fun things we did, what I wore, and why I think it is one of the best vacation spots in the Caribbean.
Romper – Band of Gypsies
So! This incredible trip was organized by Kyle’s family and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be invited and included. We stayed at Casa De Campo, which is – I don’t want to call a resort because it’s not – but almost a compound. It is a gated community inside the city of La Romana that has everything you could want in a small city! There is a gorgeous hotel within Casa de Campo but we chose to stay in a villa, which I HIGHLY recommend. Our villa was complete with an in house staff, including a bartender, pool, hot tub and right on the 4th hole of one of the most famous golf courses in the world – Teeth of The Dog.

So within the compound of Casa de Campo they have a ton of amazing restaurants. We highly recommend the sushi @ Pub Belly which is a restaurant inside the Marina, as well as dinner at Peperoni . We also did two dinners @ our villa, which were incredible. Kyle’s Dad was able to reserve a chef to come in to cook dinner and it was one of the best meals I have had! Also insanely convenient.
Along with the amazing food on the island, there is also no short of alcohol – LOL! They have an incredible beach bar, food truck and in chair service. I had a few frozen lemonades everyday at the beach. We also would go to the hotel for their swim up pool bar and not going to lie, the best chicken tenders ever.
1 Piece Swimsuit – Betsey Johnson, Jumpsuit – Adrianna Papell
One of my favorite parts about the little city was that each villa came with multiple golf carts. So we would cart everywhere around the compound, from the tennis courts to dinner and to the bars. I absolutely HATE driving (one of the many reasons that I moved to New York), so not having to be in a car was one of my favorite things. Also – Kyle has never let me drive in a car that he is present in, but he did say I was a great golf cart driver, so that is a PLUS! 🙂

I absolutely loved taking pictures here! (Shoutout to Kyle for being the photog that he never asked to be.) I think I have gotten so used to taking photos in New York and the cold. So getting to be in such a tropical paradise with beautiful scenery, has given me just the spark I needed! Also every corner of this place is beyond photogenic, so capturing these moments were one of the easiest things I’ve ever done.
It was such a relaxing week and something that I had been craving, honestly since moving to the city. It is always so go go go here, with little time to just relax and take things slowly. I rarely get to take long vacations due to my full time job, but getting to have this time, partly because of the NYC snowstorm canceling my flight – LOL, was something that I desperately needed! & that we all need!!
If anyone has any questions about my stay in The DR I am more than happy to answer in comments, emails or DM’s. I loved every second of it and am so THANKFUL to Kyle’s incredible family!
