Thank you JaM Cellars for partnering for this post. Want to buy JaM Cabernet? Find a store near you with the JaM Cellars WineFinder! Entertaining in New York in the hot Summer months can get a little bit tricky. Luckily living in Brooklyn, we have some pretty amazing outdoor space with a full courtyard perfect for BBQing and a rooftop with a pretty unbeatable Manhattan view. But with the weather in the hundreds in the Summer, sometimes outdoor entertaining is not only uncomfortable but unbearable. Here are a few of our tips to keeping your Summer parties cool and classy.
Create a New Space Inside Your Home
If the eggs are frying outside on the sidewalk, move the party indoors and create a space that is comfortable and spacious enough for your guests. Because we live in a smaller apartment in NYC, we have to rearrange our furniture to make an appropriate amount of space for people to mingle. By clearing out the couch and larger furniture and adding rugs and floor pillows, it allows us to hold more people but still have seating!
Beverage Selection
The drink selection is pretty dang important to hosting a great get together. JaM Cellars makes three easy-to-love everyday California wines – perfect even for wine beginners! As our moms are from California, Courtney and I have always leaned towards a California wine because of the rich, bold and luscious tastes – Best Cab under $20! You can use the following Wine Finder to locate a place near you – here!
Flowy Outfits
Leave the bodycons behind and opt for some flowy pieces so you feel comfortable and cool. Whether choosing a dress or blouse with baggy pants, the less fabric you have touching your skin the better so it can’t trap heat.
Music
To top it all off and add to the ambiance, create a playlist that will keep your guests happy and ready to hang. Head here for the perfect ‘ready to go playlist.’
