We over here in our apartment have been celebrating a TON of bdays lately. I had mine in April @ Hotel Chantelle then Kelly recently turned 24 which we celebrated at Freehold here in Williamsburg, BK. As I have only reached the 9 month mark of living in the city, it was really hard for me to decipher where to throw a big bday party. SOOO I decided to throw together a somewhat organized yet chaotic lists of places we see fit for celebrating your big day! They are formatted from, “Yes – I Am Trying To Rage Birthday Location ” to “Trying To Keep A Low Bday Profile”
Chill Daytime Bday Spots
Standard BiergartenChester Biergarten: Each perfect for large groups of people, out of towners because *Meatpacking District* and The Standard has a photobooth. I don’t favor one over the other because you can drink beer from a boot at each so either way your bday party will be winning.
Freehold: Venture out to Williamsburg, BK and hit up this almost bar/attraction as we see it now. From open to close it is a sure fire party haven. Very accommodating to groups and hey it gives you a reason to leave Manhattan! Try to get the server Rose, she is amazing.
Chill Nightime Bday Spots
Fiddlesticks: Situated in a great part of the West Village/Meat Packing. I attended a birthday party here right after moving and it was super low key, yet everyone had a blast. She was able to rent out the back bar for around 40-50 people, without a fee, only a drink minimum. The bar was super aggressive as well on not letting people not in our party back there. Definitely recommend!
Grey Lady: Lower East Side haven. Situated on Delancey Street. They have a back room open for reservations! As the GL is smaller it would only accommodate 25-30 guests in their private room, however the bartenders always put umbrellas in your drinks SO that’s a plus! I recommend this spot for more intimate parties & groups. The lights are low and there is ample seating.. perfect for the birthday girls late night love interests. 😉 Slash you can always end your evening @ The Delancey Rooftop.
The Park: 10th Avenue Meatpacking. This bar is LITERALLY huge. The first time I went I got lost, thought I was at an upscale B Bar, chugged two beers, then left. But besides that I have had friends celebrate here and have only heard great reviews. Mainly because they have a little bit of everything. A place to eat, outdoor seating, indoor seating, booths with velvet seating, then randomly a fireplace room with taxidermy on the ceiling. They covered all their bases here!
Day Rager Bday Spots
Lavo Brunch: The one and only. Honestly nothing can top this day rager birthday spot. It quite honestly is in a world of its own. But if you just graduated college and want to celebrate like you are at an expensive mature tailgate. Go no further, you have found your destination. (In all honesty while doing my research for this story I attended and had the best time.)
McCarren Park: We obviously have to shout it out a few times to our hood of Williamsburg but you really can’t go wrong with McCarren Park Rooftop to celebrate your day. There is a pool, there are beautiful people and there are frat stars. As much as we have grown up and hate being around their frattyness lets be honest.. they get the party started and make you feel less bad about the 5 vodka tonics you just drank.
Night Ragers (Nagers) Bday Spots
M1-5: Tribeca spot where my boyfriend will be celebrating his big 2-6 come August. When we were scouting out places for the big day – we had to keep a few things in mind. One.. he is combining parties with two other guys which brought us to this spot. It is big, you can rent out the space for free and every 30 people you bring gets you a free bottle of champs. And who doesn’t love champs and sparklers on their birthday!! Also killer playlists & beautiful setting.
Marquee: If you are that girl that wants to bring in her big day with fireball shots, a table, a bottle of tequila and no hope for tomorrow, you have found your location. Marquee is where your celebration should begin & end because you’ll blink and it will be 4am. Props to all the ladies out there with no regrets!
