I have come a long way from my Middle School fashion days. Trust me as a pre-teen growing up in the middle of nowhere Indiana there were few outlets to gain actual style inspiration from. I mean for gods sake we were buying our clothes from the local grocery store! “Mom! I want this dress! Right next to the cantaloupe’s!!”
I believe I started to develop a sense of style when I entered college. I have to skip past even high school because I was miss matching left & right and wearing chop sticks in my hair because Jennifer Garner did it in 13 Going on 30. SEND HELP SOMEONE. Anyway when I entered college I became an Apparel Merchandising major and actually started STUDYING fashion, product, design, designers. The developing of my personal style slowly started to evolve. I joined a sorority in my second semester of freshman year and began to meet girls from all over the country with amazing clothes and confidence in what they wore. I discovered ASOS, Nasty Gal (rip), and cute boutique’s around campus. I moved to New York for a summer and studied abroad in Italy, all of these things compiling to an actual sort of fashion direction.

The reason why I chose this outfit to write to you all about my style evolution is because I believe this truly represents everything my sense of fashion has boiled up to. During this past #nyfw we had the amazing pleasure of sitting front row @ the Sachin & Babi show. It was pure magic. I cannot even begin to explain how lucky I felt sitting in that seat and being present for this show. Then to be able to leave knowing that I had the opportunity to wear one of their pieces was absolutely awe inspiring. From a girl who got her inspiration in middle school from the Walmart ad’s to now having this confidence is clothing.. I sometimes wonder if I am even that same person?! (Even tho I obviously DEFINITELY am.. that accent comes out every now & then.) It is times like these that make me proud of who I am and that it takes ALL of your experiences to shape your outlook on life. From everything you choose to wear on the outside to what you believe on the inside.
