We either love this holiday! Or hate this holiday with every fiber in our being. I have never really been on either side of that spectrum. If I am single I go out with friends, if I am in a relationship then I go out with him. I have however always loved the aspect of spreading love on this day, to everyone we care about in our lives. Although we no longer receive valentine’s day cards from 35 people in our classroom we still always feel the love in many other ways!

So this all brings me to my very own Valentine’s Day post and story of how I met my current boyfriend. We have been dating now for a little over a year and I met him a few months after moving to New York. I unfortunately cannot say it was love at first sight. We met around 5 times before his face to his name all clicked with me. BUT IN MY DEFENSE I was meeting A LOT of people at this time!!! When it all finally clicked, he was sitting in my living room with a few of my roommates and friends and I was asleep in my room. However they were being v loud and I figured ugh why not. I walked out in my pj’s and introduced myself. Which didn’t go over too well with him as we have already met A FEW times.
Then I don’t think we stopped talking the rest of the night. We went to the everrrr romantic Union Pool where I was so nervous I spilled tequila shots all over my top, beer on his pants, and at one point had to take myself on a lap around the bar to retry this whole “giving a good first impression” thing. I feel very lucky to have some one like Kyle in my life. He is such a rock and just overall great human. I have never felt so loved or comfortable with a person in my entire life. I know now how easy relationships should be from him.
I think about all of my past boyfriends and the constant struggles I would go thru with them. The only thing Kyle & I have ever fought over has been me wanting to eat a raw hotdog after a night out. It is easy and it is so happy. This Vday I am dedicating this post to my best friend and thanking him for his patience, kindness, humor and compassion. 🙂 I LOVE YOU!!
