Bronzer, blonder, and a bit exhausted from all my OOO time in California ;), I’m baaack and here to provide you with my ~ truest feelings ~ on some products from one of my favorite haircare brands, Amika. After Amika first lured me in with the scent of its spunkily-bottled dry shampoo circa 2015, I knew I’d become a cult follower of the brand.

To date, I’m the proud owner of Amika’s The Confidante Moisture Maintenance Styler, Mighty Mini Dryer, Mighty Mini Styler, Perk Up Dry Shampoo, Bust Your Brass Purple Shampoo, Bust Your Brass Purple Conditioner, and Polished Perfection Mini Brush. Saying that, almost every product I use on a day-to-day basis is Amika.
Of all haircare products I currently own (which is a heck of a lot, to put it in perspective), Amika’s rose gold Confidante straightener is my hair’s ULTIMATE saving grace. With a digital screen, heat protective sensors, and the ability to reach 450 degrees Fahrenheit, the straightener uses nano silk plate technology that promises (and successfully delivers) healthier-looking, silky, shiny hair. Not only that, but the styler’s swivel cord and one-inch barrel also make it the perfect tool for creating the perfect wave. I missed out on my precious straightener bb the first 6 months of its life because my mom discovered it, like her, travels internationally well (and DOES NOT in fact need any voltage converter). If you’re looking for something for your carry-on baggage, the Polished Perfection Mini Brush is your simpler/weekend trip BFF. Note that it doesn’t achieve the same level of silkiness/straight, but is the perfect product for touch-ups.
For you blondes out there, the Bust Your Brass Purple Shampoo/Conditioner are the prime products for those of you looking to go cooler with your blonde tones. As a natural brunette-dyed-blonde, my hair is bound to turn brassy without the use of purple shampoos. Looking to go silver blonde (without actually going silver blonde), I sought out to find a reasonably priced and highly effective method. After only 2 shampoo/conditions, I could already see stark differences in my blonde hues. People actually asked me if had died my hair a lighter/silvery blonde — a color which I accredited Amika’s products to. I’ve mentioned before how much I love Clairol’s Shimmering Lights Purple Shampoo, which I still do, but if you’re looking for a more noticeable change/lighter tones, def go with Amika’s Bust Your Brass products! If you decide to buy the Bust Your Brass conditioner too, I recommend mixing it with a bit of normal conditioner too in able to ensure your hair retains its softness.
