Last week, I asked you guys on IG stories for some fun date night activities to do with your significant other. With limited activities available because of Covid, you really gotta keep things interesting with games and planned themed nights or else things can get little dull. I also LOVE having something to plan and dress up for, so it’s a great excuse to get a little creative!
If You Are Feeling Romantic
Questions in a hat! Matt and I did this last week on the boardwalk of his family’s home and it was sooo much fun and super easy! Basically all I did was I wrote down all of the questions from ‘36 Questions to Fall in Love’ and then cut each question from the piece of paper, folded it in half and then put it in a hat. We took turns pulling out the questions from that hat and asked each other the prompts. It was a great way to tell stories that we’ve never told before and just have a different conversation!
If You Are Getting Tired of Your Environment/Home
Get crafty and decorate the house into your very own movie theatre. You DO NOT have to break the bank either! Make homemade tickets to the movie you are going to watch with the time of “the showing” and slip it under their door while they are working! Hang up some string lights for a “marquee” feel and throw up some red or black curtains or sheets to black out the room. You can even get some cute little popcorn holders and old school movie theatre candy to really get that movie theatre feel!
If You Are Want to Take Your Mind Off Things
When I am feeling stressed but still want to hang out, I love to pull out some games! Especially since we are all working from home, it can be difficult to take your mind off of the work day and transition into “date night.” Having something to distract you can be a great thing for your brain! When I asked this question on stories last week, so many of you said that you loved to play Sequence and Bananagrams with your significant other. (Disclosure, I have never played either but I trust you guys!) Some of my favorites are Do You Know Me? and Codenames Duet.
If You Need to Take a Chill Pill
No need to sugarcoat it, being with your significant other around the clock can be difficult. But giving a little love with nice gestures can certainly go a long way. Personally, my boyfriend LOVES a facial (lol). I got him into skincare when we first started dating and would apply it to him with his own little mini-facial. Needless to say, he was hooked. Creating a “spa night” for your significant other is a great way to reconnect and decompress. It’s all about creating the ambiance. Throw on a relaxing Spotify playlist, spray the room with an aromatherapy spray and hand them a glass of champagne as they walk in the door! Start their facial with a nice hotel towel – splash some water on a towel and throw it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Follow with a detox mask, then do some light facial massage (you can use a jade roller or gua sha too!) and finish up with a scented moisturizer to lock it all in! They will LOVE! Plus it really is a great way to introduce your boyfriend into skincare if they aren’t into it!
